My experience with P&P in English
After reading this book in my own language twice, I knew the story pretty well, besides some Tv adaptations. I can say my information was completed.
To be honest, my current readings aren’t classic books, although they are my favourites, my level in English is lower, however, I’m going step by step stretching my readings. I understand these old books have old words, too.
Since I didn’t want to jump from my contemporaneous books to these old ones in just one jump, I started reading Agatha Christie’s books (one of my favourite authors) and Nancy Drew.
I learned too many words so I stretched my vocabulary a bit more. After some years, yes, you did read well, I wrote “years” because you don’t think I spend my whole time learning English, do you? So I started P&P, at last, a few months ago and of course, I couldn’t be separated from my dictionary. In spite of that, I enjoyed the book this third time.
I have little problems with some funny words, anyway but it wasn’t any problem. I’m not discouraged because, after all, I learned so I want to take another challenge soon. I’m prepared to accomplish this lovely task about learning more and more every day.

Lizzie Bennet Diaries {Series on Youtube}

I've been thinking about the pleasure
a pair of fine eyes in te face of a pretty woman
can bestow

I’m very happy and satisfied, after watching some adaptations about “Pride and Prejudice” that I didn’t like, at last, I saw something good, obviously talking to myself, I don’t know your tastes. But at last, I found one Lizzie Bennet more elegant, without big insults, seeking the true love and speaking everything that comes up at her mind, smooth and sweet and funny. I don’t have to watch any obscenity or people drunk, neither rudeness manners nor sex everywhere. I know too many people like all these things, but that disgusting me and find out something like “Lizzie Bennet Diaries” it was wonderful -Miss Josephine acknowledge it.
Something good I saw in these vlogs, there are no restrictions when they speaking like in Regency era where everyone couldn’t speak straight because that was rude and unsuitable.
It was magnificent and really funny when Lizzie mocks to her mother in those sketches with her extreme obsession about how to married at her daughter with wealthy men. Sometimes Lizzie will make descriptions by sketches of her meeting with the others character and another time, those characters will be in the Vlog and tell us their stories.
If you know about the original story by Jane Austen you are going to recognize the situations and the characters. The meetings are different because we’re not in Regency era so Bingley won’t be found in a ball and George Wickham won’t be in a shop buying ribbons for Lydia. But it doesn’t matter, really! It seems perfect and so natural.
You’ll find this series on Youtube because Lizzie Bennet has a video blog and there she uses her time for de-stress and relief while she talks to her viewers about her problems and her events into her life. All this happen in 100 episodes, each one of 3 or 5 minutes, but I plunged myself into these episodes and inwardly I knew this was the better I had seen in too much time.
It began in 2012 and finished in 2013 and is absolutely perfect for me. Below each video, from Youtube, you can find more information about the people who will make everything.
It was a very pleasure and I'm ready for watching twice.

Sense and Sensibility 2008 BBC

If you want to know more about that I'm about to tell you now of this story, you can click here because I'm just to go to tell you a bit from the plot. I'm want to talk about this wonderful series from BBC because this is a jewel.
I always fall in love when I see those room full of candles (I wonder if in those places would have smoke enough for to cough every time)
What kind of boredom had the people for being all time talking about to find husbands for young girls?
The job of cousin's Mary from Devonshire and his mother-in-law Mrs. Jennings working in such a thing with Marianne and Elinor and speaking of Mrs. Jennings, she is Queene from Lark Rise to Candleford, by the way.
I love the feeling in my chest something like to stifle a laugh when they are making dishes or cut the meal and someone knock the door and the four women start to prepare the place as if they had done all day reading and sewing like a real ladies. (And they are, and the men know all that but are funnier if all they pretend that nothing of it happens)
The difference between these two young sisters is disclosing after the first episode. You can see the first one like an introduction and when you open the second episode you'll see a big difference between them. Elinor copies the same manners like the others, like a good lady but Marianne thinks, "why have I conceal my feelings when they are good? I don't mind that the people say about me, I am not doing anything wrong" Elinor hides her feelings so much and Marianne shows them enough because she hates these stupid conventions. However, the problem of her is that she have to live with all of them and all these things will be present until the lasts events where each sister will learn her lesson.

I'd like to tell you more about the clothing and dresses but, currently, I'm searching more information for making another article because they are so beautiful. I can see how everybody seems comfortable with their clothes. I liked it its colors and styles. They seem soft and easier to wear than the seem. I love wearing bonnets, but the sad true is I don't wear it. Never. I guess my little shyness is a burden from time to time. Well, it's nothing I can speak of.
What a wonderful and gorgeous scenes. They are beside the sea and you can hear the crane, the waves in the night for you better sleeping (if you can sleep with such a sound) and the view makes me think, always. The meadow stretched forward, the wind doesn't stop of blowing, there is a litter waterfall and it seems a perfect place for a walk, read, and hide from the world. I would do it, sure. You have peace, quite silent, time to speak and listen. Beautiful place, even the small cottage matches with everything there. You won't have any building in front of this cottage that impedes you to see the sun in the mornings and the moon in the nights. Excellent, because I'm a lover of the stars. Where have I to sign?
For the other hand, you aren't going to see only grass and clear sky, the London season is about to star and you'll see London, as well, and its luxury houses as well as its balls and dinners with important, rich people who don't notice anything with less money than theirs.
I wish I was a man. Girls can never do anything.
Men can ride about the country and do things.
And girls just sit and wait for things to happen.
...::Lovely young Meg, clever girl at her age::...
This nature is seems connected with Elinor who appears to search places where hide her feelings desperately. She is the only one living the real life and you'll see to her with her apron going one place and another cleaning, thinking, and clinging to anything for surviving in her new world, luckily, they have such a thoughtful neighbor who doesn't them to much time for thinking about her problems, moreover, this person lets them more troubles.
Ok! I could tell you so mucho things, but then you won't see this splendid series for your own. I won't go more straight.

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

Inside in a world when the men rules make very difficult being a woman.
I don't know how much you know about that time, but this book reflects itself very well all those things. I won't go much further so... let's begin!

Plot:
Women cannot get any heritage and when the man of the house died only another man can get the heritage. Elinor Dashwood, her sisters and her mother are obliged to leave their house because their heritage is now in her step-brother's hands. John is influenced by his greedy wife and take almost all the money and give at these four women a poor pay for to live. Elinor will learn to show her feelings and Marianne will learn to conceal them.
Jane Austen was a great writer, very bold, and born before her time. Miss Austen knew to see with a new look her world and adapted it into her books with touches of sarcasm and irony, and a little of complain, I have to say because she lived in her body most of these problems.
I love this book (There are not any book from Jane Austen I don't love) and its story love and the dead weight over those weak but at the same time strong, and stern shoulders.
Elinor Dashwood, within her restrictions, has such a confidence in herself that I feel jealousy from her. You can see her leading all her family because her mother only concerns her social status and appearances. Her sister Marianne has stuck in her romantic books and see al time the love in the air and her youngest sister is still a child. Elinor seems the only one with a head on her shoulders.
This is a topic which repeats itself in Pride and prejudice. The Bennet family had fear because they haven't any son and they were all women. By those circumstances, Miss Bennet wanted to see all her daughters married (and because she was always very bored, as well) And like Anne Eliot in Persuasion, Elinor is the person who all people are running into her for talking all their thoughts and feelings and at the same time, she must still quiet.
These four women lived in a big house with all kind of luxuries and her lives are changed when the father die. They leave her house and to abandon her lives and Elinor is the only one who is a bad person in that family because they are poor now and her mother doesn't want to see it, her sister Marianne is reckless in the love and her passion give them troubles, but Elinor is the only one who is capable of to see their real life. They are living now in a small cottage but they have relatives who invite them, only Elinor and Marianne, to London and that will give them more troubles.
Elinor will start to love in silent while she beholds about with precaution being all time the spokesman of her family, suffering in the hush and crying when no one sees her. And Marianne will lunge forward without hesitation towards the loving arms, danger-loving arms of someone with enough secrets.
Everything is about money! Yes, Mr. Money is always the owner into Austen's book. You have to get married to someone wealthy and it doesn't matter you don't love him/her. That is something that always happens here but fortunately, our heroines will have always very bad circumstances before getting good results at the end.
“Sometimes one is guided by what they say of themselves, and very frequently by what other people say of them, without giving oneself time to deliberate and judge."

Persuasion [Book by Jane Austen]
Persuasion is my favorite book written by Jane Austen and I’ve read all of them for sure. It’s the only book on my shelves with more editions. It’s in English and Spanish. How Jane Austen wrote it? I’m not a person that read the same book twice because I want to read more books. There are too many books interesting in my mind and I don’t like stay with the same book because I exasperate myself thinking and thinking about others books but there are books, only a few, I need read it more times. Persuasion is one of them I need to read more times. It’s special for me. It has something that makes jump my heart, my dreams and my mind.

| People don't talk that way anymore (Ben Gates) |
Plot:
This story focuses itself in Anne Elliot and Frederick Wentworth. Eight years ago Anne and Frederick were betrothed, they were very happy but Lady Russel (Anne's best friend) persuaded her for break off the engagement (dislike me this woman all time into de book) Why did she make things like those? Lady Russel said at Anne that Frederick was unworthy and Anne was very ingenuous and with all her pain into her heart... she drifted by that advice. Therefore Anne break the engagement off very sad and leave this man with her heart into her hands. She said good bye one true loves. Now eight years after they have a meeting and now is when the book begins.
I love Jane Austen’s book. Always they catch me my breath by surprise and when I finished I let go slowly the breath and one “aaww”. She is my favorite writer. I have all her books, “her children” (as Jane say always) and I love catching them in my break time for taking a look in. I love her humor, her irony, her writing, her thinking. Oh, my… I take pleasure in her books. What a delight! I would want to write like Jane. Or to be her friend, much better ha! I can imagine myself walking for Bath and listening carriages. I almost can feel the warm into the ballroom or the soft breeze while I’m looking shop windows. Drinking tea and wearing those dresses (whatever the number of the layers has down the dress) It’s just…. It’s pretty nice. Jane Austen makes me feel homesick, although I have never been or living there! Very odd, don’t you think? But that is what Jane Austen cause to me. I’m a dreamer. I’m lover for those years. But enough to talk about myself, I want to make one review about this wonderful book.
Persuasion is a story full of love, gossips, jealousies, meetings and very funny if you are able to understand at Jane Austen. This book is very funny. Austen laughs herself of her society and her habits. Perhaps to born female was a curse there. Always looking for the best marriage (with millionaires men) A woman cannot think (a fool woman is much better tractable). Some jobs were only for men (a writer woman was a shame). In this case, Jane Austen was a writer and she signed her books like an unknown)
As for me, I love these characters, Anne and Frederick had a history eight years ago and later they have a meeting. There are nervous and a lot misunderstanding. They will find out a lot of secret through people surrender them and understand things from de past. Bloom all the feelings between Anne and Frederick in that first looking and Anne cannot turn away her eyes from him. I love their story.
Do you like this book?
I hope your answer is “yes”.
